The hard part will be
deciding what to do first.
Western North Carolina
is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. In fact, Outside magazine
named this area one of the top 100 communities for outdoor
recreation. Just outside your doorstep, refreshing walks
and pristine acres of North Carolina real estate await.
Biking, horseback riding, kayaking, fly fishing and whitewater
rafting opportunities abound, making these mountains truly
unique.
Several
trailheads leave Garnet Ridge Preserve and travel through
the Nantahala National Forest, which borders 85% of the
community.
Local artisans display
their talents at the many shops in nearby Dillsboro. The
Great Smoky Mountains Railway runs scenic excursions from
its depot in Dillsboro and Bryson City. Finally, don't
forget the spectacularly pristine Great Smoky Mountains
National Park, located a short drive from Garnet Ridge
Preserve.
